Thank you for your interest in Reliance through the University of Rochester's RSRB.

Please read these instructions carefully.

University of Rochester faculty, staff, or students requesting Reliance must complete and submit this eReliance request form. Complete this form to request Reliance in any of the following situations:

1. UR Relying on an External IRB and a reliance agreement needs to be put in place.

Do Not Submit for reliance on an independent IRB (e.g., WCG, Advarra) or studies reviewed by the National Cancer Institute cIRB.

2. Funding Proposal Submission - Request for the UR to act as the Reviewing IRB for a multi-site research and need a budget for proposal submission.

3. UR to act as the Reviewing IRB - Funding received, or an unfunded project.

Please note the RSRB does not execute Reliance Agreements for Research that qualifies for exemption, or international research.

RSRB Fees

The costs associated with the Research Subjects Review Board (RSRB) review must be factored into study budgets during the budget development process. RSRB fees are dependent on funding sources and whether the RSRB will act as the Reviewing IRB or Relying Institution

The University of Rochester executes Reliance Agreements pursuant to the Single IRB Review mandate for NIH and the OHRP regulations requirement.

The RSRB does not execute reliance agreements for studies where the University of Rochester is not engaged in the research, does not meet the federal definition for human subject research, or when the research qualifies for exemption under the OHRP regulations.
We will not enter into any Reliance Agreements for International sites.
