Thank you for your interest in the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) Training Program. The program will take place September 2025 to March 2026. The full agenda will be posted online.

Pending available funding, a Request for Applications (RFA) may be released for the $16,500 CBPR Pathway-to-Pilot grant in Spring 2026. CBPR Program graduate teams comprised of community organization and University of Rochester representatives, working together, are eligible to apply for the grant funding.

You are strongly encouraged to apply to the CBPR training program as a dyad team of University of Rochester representative and community organization representative. Each person in the team can register separately and indicate the affiliation. Please contact Laura Sugarwala to discuss partnership dyads prior to registering, if you have not yet established a partnership.

The URMC Community Advisory Council has helped UR CTSI identify 5 key community priorities for research which guide the initiative areas of Office for Health Equity Research (OHER).

These priorities are:
1) Improving access to safe, secure and affordable housing
2) Change policy to decrease reincarceration rate
3) Violence prevention
4) Chronic disease prevention and management
5) Promote well-being to prevent mental and substance use disorders.

Considering these priorities, please comment on how your intended community research may impact one or more of these priority areas.
