URMC Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery URG Visiting Student Scholarship 2025

We are excited to offer one funded visiting sub-internship position for 4 weeks in the URMC Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY in 2025 for a highly qualified applicant with a background under-represented in medicine.

Funding will include up to $3500 for housing, travel, meals, and incidental costs accrued during a 4-week rotation.
The student will get to select a faculty and resident member that will serve as mentors and advisors.
The student will meet 1:1 with the Plastic Surgery Program Director and Chief, as well as the Vice-Chair of Transforming Culture with Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity in Surgery (TIDES) within the Department of Surgery.
The student will have the opportunity to speak with plastic surgery residents at the program prior to starting the rotation to discuss tips and advice for succeeding during the clerkship.
Applications will be reviewed once all required documents are received.
Scholarship recipients are responsible for making their own housing and travel arrangements.
Scholarship funds are provided in the form of a check to visiting medical students after their elective rotation at URMC ends.
