This form describes a research study that is being conducted by Heather Link MD/MPH, Neil Seligman MD, MS and Elizabeth Greener from the University of Rochester's Department of OBGYN.
The purpose of this study is to address knowledge gaps in practices regarding the use of opioid maintenance therapy during pregnancy and postpartum as well as provider knowledge and concerns of pregnancy specific conditions related to treatment.
If you decide to take part in this study, you will be asked to complete 1 survey that will take about 10 minutes to complete. The surveys will ask questions about opioid maintenance therapy in pregnancy.
If any of the survey questions make you feel uncomfortable, you can skip them. To minimize risks, we will not collect any identifiable information about you with your survey responses. There are no other expected risks; there are also no expected benefits to you.
We estimate that approximately 1500 subjects will take part in this study.
You will have the option to enter a drawing for one of three $50 eAmazon gift cards for participating in this study. Winners will be notified via email and chances of winning are 1 in 500. There will be no cost to you to participate in this study.
The University of Rochester makes every effort to keep the information collected from you private. In order to do so, we will delete all emails of subjects who enter in the amazon drawing as soon as the drawing is completed. Sometimes, however, researchers need to share information that may identify you with people that work for the University. If this does happen we will take precautions to protect the information you have provided. Results of the research may be presented at meetings or in publications.
Your participation in this study is completely voluntary. You are free not to participate or to withdraw at any time, for whatever reason. No matter what decision you make, there will be no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.
