Experimental Neurotherapeutics Program Application |
Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Experimental Neurotherapeutics (ExNT) Training Program in the department of Neurology at the University of Rochester. Now in its 35th year, this NINDS funded T32 training program is designed to train post-residency physicians and postdoctoral clinical neuroscientists to meet the rapidly growing opportunities and challenges of translating neuroscience discoveries into clinical therapeutics.
This two-year program (starting July 2026) provides trainees with the opportunity to gain experience in mentored research projects and participate in large multicenter clinical trials. Each trainee is matched with Research and Biostatistical Mentors and completes coursework for a certificate in Experimental Therapeutics supplemented by seminar series in career development, clinical research methodology and experimental design.
We encourage applications from individuals who:
Hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent degree in neurology, neuroscience, psychiatry, pharmacology, or a related field.
- Are post-residency physicians or postdoctoral scientists committed to pursuing careers in neurotherapeutics research.
- Have a strong interest in translating basic science discoveries into clinical trials and therapeutic applications.
- Demonstrate potential for leadership in academic medicine, biotechnology, or clinical research.
- Value collaborative, interdisciplinary research and mentorship in a diverse and inclusive training environment.
- Are committed to addressing health equity and contributing to global health initiatives.
